Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on 14 different times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to overcome their arch-rivals in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions victory.

The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the showdown between the French league champions and the Coupe de France winners after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired twice in the closing moments to take a surprise advantage. First, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable turn of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital leveler in the final seconds to send the contest into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping crucial kicks from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to complete a convincing shootout win.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now won this trophy for the 12th time in the past thirteen years.
