Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
